during the American Civil War,many blacks fought for the Union for the instance in 1862 a South Carolina slave caputred a confederate cotton steamer and turned it over to the Union army.president Lincoln and congress recognized his significant contribution name this freedom fighter who later served as a United States congressman.Can someone help me with this question i searched on google and Ask.com didn't work
